basketc

Laura over at Organizing Junkie has a fascination with baskets.  She invited us fellow bloggers to share our spaces that were organized using baskets of any kind.  I immediately thought of my bathroom closet.

Don't you hate it when you find a great product, get all excited, partly organize a space and discover they no longer carry that item?  That is exactly what happened when I rearranged my space behind my bathroom door.  I absolutely fell in love with these sterilite CD boxes, they were cheap ($1 at Wally world) so picked up six thinking that I could easily get more.  I came home and they fit perfectly in my closet looking all neat and orderly but I soon discovered I needed four more.  Upon returning to the store I discovered the spot where they were located has now become a pile of whicker baskets.  I proceeded to look high and low at every department store for those niftily little baskets and came to the conclusion I have to be content with what I have.  I have a trip planned to the States in the next couple of weeks and hope to find some in either Target or Wal-mart.

Regardless, I like how this turned out and the products we use on a regular basis fit perfectly in the space.  The two larger wicker baskets hold overstock supplies such as hairspray and deodorant and the bottom one is where I keep my blow dryer and favourite hairbrush.  I toyed with the idea of keeping this under the cupboard and freeing up that space for extra toilet tissue but the hairdryer is used on a regular basis and this allows easy access without making too much noise rummaging in the cupboards early in the morning.

I also found this nifty drawer organizer at our local thrift store which houses items like curling irons, hair accessories, flat irons and foam curlers.  This leaves me with plenty of space to place my rolled towels (my hubby does all of the folding so he can do it however he wants to without any complaints from me) I also placed a small plastic basket to keep all of the face cloths and small hand towels.

So far this system has kept my supplies in order and I can easily spot what is low and what is needed.  Not to say the odd jar of hair sculpting gel has not moseyed on over with the baby suppositories, but for the most part they end up back where they belong.

So if you have a secret obsession with baskets or anything organizing related head over to Laura's and check out some neat sites

Re: Bathroom baskets

Wow- those look great! I had the same thing happen to me when I picked up some containers for my boy's room. They turned out to be perfect for their shelves (and color-themed no less) but when I went for more, they were not selling the brand anymore. Still looking...;)

Re: Bathroom baskets

Its such a bummer when the perfect items are discontinued. I hope you find some more on your trip! I love how they look in there!

I love how organized it all looks!!! I'm not sure if you have Dollar Tree in your area, but I just returned from there with 6 of those exact same Sterilite Cd Boxes. I'm off to organize...thanks for the inspiration :)

Re: Bathroom baskets

I love this! it all looks so organised! I don't have much storage space in our bathroom. I have a tall, thin cupboard and these baskets look like they would sit perfectly in there. Thanks for the idea!

Re: Bathroom baskets

OH! I just saw those little baskets with the holes at Walmart by me (Las Vegas.) I was trying to think what I could use them for because they were cute. Good luck with your search!

Re: Bathroom baskets

I love this! Looks so neat and clean. I've seen similar CD boxes to those at music stores if that helps out at all.

Re: Bathroom baskets

I have purchased those boxes before. I got mine at CVS. You may want to check that store out.
