I am so excited and honoured to be given these two recognitions. The donors are two amazing blogger's that have been faithful readers, commenter's and most of all friends.
The first was a tag given to me by a site otherwise known as my virtual cook book. When I am inundated with a bunch of leftovers and odd n ends in my freezer I know I can simply visit her site and voila! inspiration. She can make a well rounded meal out of anything and is super creative, something I often lack in the cooking department. The addition of associated pictures that accompany each recipe complete the whole picture.
The tag has me state 6 random things about myself...ughhh. Here goes nothing.
- I hate spiders....no seriously, spiders are BAD! If one comes within a few feet of me or worst yet makes contact I am off running. I may or may not stop for some time so don't think I am being rude if I don't stop to chat.
- I dislike being the centre of attention. I used to show horses and after 6 years realized I hated it because I was being watched. How liberating when I gave it up and now ride for sheer pleasure.
- My favourite meal is fried potato pancakes. Not those fancy ones with eggs and flour just plain grated spuds for me. Deciding between a topping of brown sugar or ketchup became too difficult so now I have one of each. Problem solved.
- We are still contemplating adopting a child from Russia. We initially started the process and got sidetracked with the birth of our two boys.
- I am one of the last remaining humans who does not own a cell phone. My hubby bought me one several years back and confiscated it a mere two weeks later after I left it on the roof of the car, lawn and pretty much anywhere else cell phones should not be.
- my dream vacation at this moment would be to visit the Amish in Pennsylvania. I seriously think I was born in the wrong era. See above.
I would like to tag Kristi from Secrets for my friends. Kristi is an amazing writer and most recently shared her moving story about the miraculous birth of her first daughter, Mya. I literally had goose bumps reading it. She also shares a passion for organizing so you can only imagine our coffee dates and our comparison stories of how we organize a pantry....exciting stuff.
The second is an award that comes from a dear friend My kids mom who has been with me from the very beginning. I always look forward to reading her comments and especially love reading about her families adventures located so far away.
The rules are to award a fellow blogger.
Kate's kitchen. Kate is a new friend I met this past year at our local mom's club. She is a certified dietician and is a perfect sounding board for my weird food related questions. What I love about her approach is how easy eating well should be, often times we make it more complicated than it should be and when I get overwhelmed I can always count on Kate to give me a dose of reality.
Thanks again ladies.
