How to Use the Forums

Here are some quick tips on using the forums.

To Read: Click on a forum, then on the name of the discussion thread. At the bottom of the page on the right hand side, you can choose how you want to see the thread: Flat view (all messages) or Tree View (only the headers). You can also choose whether you want to see the newest or the oldest responses at the top of the thread.

To Rate: If you found this post particularly useful, please rate it so that others know that it's chock full of good information.

To Reply: If you want to reply to a message, simply click on the reply link and then type your response. If there is no reply link, then the message is locked, meaning it won't accept responses.

To Post: If you want to create a new thread, first enter the forum where you want to post, then click New Thread. Enter a title – make it clear – and then your text. Before you start a new thread take a look through the existing threads to see if someone else has already started the same topic. Cluttering up the forums on an organizing site would not be a good thing!

What the buttons across the top mean:
#1 The Inbox is where you will receive private messages from the forum administrators or other members.

#2 In My Settings you can change different things about the way you use the forums.

#3 My Posts pulls up a list of all your posts, new threads and responses.

#4 Search allows you to search the forums for specific topics.

#5 Forum Home brings you back to the forums' main page.
