Are your Schools Green?
Adam's school has recently given the parents the option of getting the school notices by e-mail.....yahoo. Now I just copy and paste the items into my calendar. Thank you Valley Christain Academy for being Green!
Is your kids school green? If not, get them on the path to environmental awareness.
Cheers,
Elaine

Re: Are your Schools Green?
I love this way of getting information from my kids schools.
I get newsletters by email and notices. Only trouble is the boys school is very sporadic and they still send a hard copy home, Go figure. But at least they are trying.
My daughters school does it all by email, it is fab. I only print what I need to like permission slips etc, and the rest get files in Outlook.
Greta way to communicate

Re: Are your Schools Green?
Our school changed to email newsletters last year ... I love this BUT now to get them to make the email header meaningful ... it would be much easier to find an old newsletter if the subject said "new terms for 2009" than just "newsletter" don't you think. Maybe this is because the newsletter comes as an attachment so I have to open it before I even know what it contains.

Re: Are your Schools Green?
I think the email newsletters all depends on the demographic group the school serves. Some demographic groups just can't afford a computer at home and if they do, they may not be able to afford the internet. Schools should have they're paper copies available on their websites and make sure that parents know they can access the information there should they wish to.

For some schools it would be "greener" to coordinate the school handouts so that there weren't so many and use recycled paper and double sided printing.

I think it will be quite some time before schools go green.
