Giftwrap ideas
Following on on the thread about going green this festive season ... I love giving (and receiveing) gifts and just love it when the outside must look just as good as the inside (it's the whole experience). I received a grogeous gift the other day wrapped up in a piece of colourful fabric and tied with pins. It looked so amazing that I have kept the fabric and pins and will wrap up my very next gift in it ... I'd love to know how you plan to wrap up your gifts this year

Re: Giftwrap ideas
I have to say I love giving kitchen gifts wrapped up in tea towels, napkins (or is that serviettes?) or place mats. This always seems like a gift wrapped in a gift! I also like to give home baked cookies in decorative (and re-usable) tins or plastic containers. It seems practical but nice.

Re: Giftwrap ideas
For gift giving, I always buy a roll of plain white paper (100% recycled) and wrap all my gifts in that then use different coloured ribbon (red, green white for Christmas; blue, silver, gold for boy's birthday) as accent.

The kids can draw on the gift as decorations or use stickers. The ribbon can be re-used and the paper can either be re-used or recycled.

Re: Giftwrap ideas
I often encourage clients with young Children to use the kids artwork as wrapping paper. It is unique colourful and recycling. Solves the problem as well of what to do with all those pictures they paint at school.

I am forever picking up at yard sales and thrift stores small trinkets to decorate parcels. small castoff Christmas ornaments are beautiful tied with ribbon on a gift. I have even used antique keys and other charms for other occassions. If you do a food related gift, I nice wooden spoon or measuring cup would be nice on top.
