Shoe fettish or what?
Summer is here in SA which means I tend to kick off my shoes as often as I can ... problem is, seems the rest of the family are doing the same thing. Now I have systems in place that work in my wardrobe but don't have anyting implemented for the kids. Boxes just wont do and the hanging shoe bags are too high for them to reach (Deena is only 4!!!). Any suggestions for alternative shoe storage (at the moment we just use the bottom pen space under the hanging rail). Thanks

Re: Shoe fettish or what?
Hi Tracey,

At our house I had a boot locker built. Not sure if I can explain this but I will try. It is a large wooden box shape (about 72" x 60") that has individual slots of about 12" x 12"(just looks like cubes within a big cube) each family member has a section to place each pair of their footware in. It is at the back door that we use, and is mounted on the wall about 2 feet off the ground so you can put larger items (like boots) underneath it. The top 6 shelves have indivual baskets in them that I use for each day of the week (I double the last one Sat/Sun as I had this idea after it was made) with things that need to go out of the house on that day. Not only does this house our footware but we keep mittens, scarfs and hats in there as well. I love it so much as it keeps the entrance way clear, and you are not tripping over everyones shoes. I am moving shortly and had it removed from the wall so that I can take it to my new house as I love it so much. If you can't visualize it I can send you a picture on your email. Penney

Re: Shoe fettish or what?
We have a small laundry room/mud room and we place all the shoes on the floor against one wall. Trick is that no more than three pairs of shoes per person can be in that room at one time. My husband puts his away right away or stores them in the garage or hall closet. I usally have one pair and that leaves the three kids. The shoes usually are play, school and slippers or in the winter - here in Canada - boots and slippers.
